I have long held a passion for history. I thus decided to combine that passion with the analytical and writing skills I developed in my regular career to become a freelance historian, thus combining my ability in objective historical research and writing with my passion. Besides a love of history, I also completed formal training in the discipline. I graduated with honors in history in both my undergraduate work (Global History with a European Colonial focus) and my graduate work (Military History with an American Revolution focus). I have presented my written research work at the 2018 Pacific Coast Branch of the American Historical Society’s annual meeting in Santa Clara California, the 2019 Society for Military History conference in Columbus, OH, and presented at the British Commission for Military History conference in Lancaster, England 7-8 November 2019.
My first book, entitled: Losing America, Securing an Empire: The Rise of British Global Power in the Late 18th Century, was published in 2022. My second book on the development of China and Japan in the 19th Century should be published in late 2025 or early 2026.
The book is available from McFarland Books.
I set up this site to share some of the original historical research I have done in the past, as well as work I am currently engaged in researching and writing. I would love any and all constructive feedback, as it only helps to improve the final product.
I am active in the following historical organizations:
American Historical Association
British Commission for Military History
Council of America’s Military Past
